I know - this year's walking is not over yet - but I thought I would start a similar thread to those I have started in the past couple of years. I am planning my second C2C crossing commencing on or about 9th May 2008 for 14 days. At present there are 3 of us going to make the crossing but this will hopefully be increased to 4 by the time I start booking accommodation etc in December. We will probably be staying at most of the same places I stayed in 2006 with obvious exceptions e.g. Butt House no longer available. We might push on and stay in Muker - any suggestions for accommodation here?

I can thoroughly recommend the Muker Village Store B&B. I stayed there on my C2C crossing in 2006. Muker is a delightful little village.

Journeyman -
We stayed above the Tea Rooms in Muker, Lovely little village and the digs are very close to the pub and a nice pint of 'Black Sheep'
There is a bus back up to Keld in the morning (and we were the only ones on it!)

Hi Journeyman, all the best in 2008 on your 2nd crossing, will you do the same route as 2006 or opt for some of the variants?

p.s. Trish & I still remember the drink you left for us behind the bar at R.H.B.

Hello Robin and Trish it's nice to hear from you.

I'm walking with at least 2 others this time one of whom did the first 4 days with me last year and the other hasn't done any of it. It's probable that a 4th will be joining us. It really will be a case of what 'we' collectively want to do based on the weather at the time. I think it will broadly be the same route but I'd like to take in Helvellyn this time. We plan on splitting the Borrowdale to Patterdale again so distance and time shouldn't be a problem if the weather is OK.

I've given a deadline of 30 November for the 4th member then I will be starting booking and before you know it we'll be off. I'm out walking quite a lot and the others are part of a group of about 15 that go out every 6 weeks (followed by a few real ales and a Bradford curry on the way back).

I'll post further as the planning develops.

Hey Journeyman

Your posting of 20th November suggests you might be willing to tell me where to share your knowledge of Bradford curry houses. Any chance? Please!

We are walking the C2C starting May 17th and ending on May 31. Regarding Butt House I have just made a reservation there so it must still be open. So far we have most of our accomodations booked but am missing out on a few. We're looking forward to doing this type of walk, quite different from the mountains we usually hike in near our home in Vancouver BC

I, along with four other women are doing the C2C in June, starting at St. Bee's on 14th. This is the first time we have undertaken such a challenge, we are all grandmothers and call ourselves 'the famous five grannies'.
If anyone has any tips and or advice, it will be gratefully received.
