It's good to see it back on-line, though still a few bugs to iron out, like the 'Edit Post' button not working yet.

It makes sense to only be able to edit ones own posts but I think that, for some reason, there's a time limit on editing.

Yes, but the expiry time for editing your own posts is set to 'Zero' currently, so you can't edit at all.
I'd like to correct an email address in another thread, but can't, so sadly it has to remain wrong!

I'm due to set off from St Bees on Friday next,5th September. I'm planning to take thirteen days for the crossing, which will be my third C2C, although the last one was fourteen years ago - when I was young(er) and thin(ish).
Are any readers setting off next week? If so, I'll look forward meeting you at some point over the next couple of weeks. I'll be the grey haired, navigationally challenged, old cove, with a limp.

Not until a week later, I'm afraid - so unlikely to catch you up!

Yes, that's the very day we're starting. Staying at Abbey Farmhouse in St Bees on the Friday night and the Shepherds Arms at Ennerdale on Saturday. Then we're going slightly 'non-standard', hoping to do the ridge route and stop the next night at Black Sail YH.

Sorry, Henderka, I got it wrong - we're leaving Sat 13th! Have a good crossing anyway.

The Shepherds Arms was good when I stayed there four years ago.
"hoping to stop the next night at Black Sail YH" - but have you booked ? Very popular, Black Sail is regularly fully booked long in advance, but there are often spare beds at Ennerdale YH four miles down the valley.
