It is quite hard going up the hills but well worth the effort as it is probably the best bit of the whole walk. To help you get your breath back after the first of the climbs (Carlton Bank) as you come down from the disused gliding station there is an excellent walker's cafe built into the hillside. The cafe is called the Lord Stones and you can drink mugs of hot tea or coffee and even get a chip sandwich there so don't miss it!
