What an interesting and varied experience, especially the contrast between moorland and coast. some highlights: got caught in a bad storm on Urra Moor, with horizontal rain! After several miles went back to clay bank and down to get out of the mist, rain and wind. Another bright spot, Staithes. We liked it so much there we stayed two nights with Isabel elliott at Salmon cottage. Note: High Paradise tea room is no longer serving food (the owner made us tea however) and the walker's halt on Boulby is closed because the cook had a stroke and is hospitalized. Had a huge blister under a callous that made walking very difficult, but with the moors bus and the esk river line we managed to give my poor foot a rest. Did not do the Link because of my foot problem, but will come back in two years for more walking.
