Me and my wife are planning to do the Clevland Way. Has any body got any thoughts on how good the walk is and suggest the best B & B's to stay at

Hi
I haven't done the Cleveland Way in full, but I have done parts of it and if it wasn't for the fact I am doing the C2C later this year,I was quite prepared to do it.
Where are you from?
If you are not familiar with the area (I live in Billingham,in Teeside),then you are in for a treat. Are you starting from Hemsley and finishing at Filey,or vice versa?

Hi!

The Cleveland Way was my first long distance path in 2000 and thoroughly enjoyable - great scenery and almost equally divided into moors and cliff paths - best of both worlds. I can't recall specific details of B&Bs but, if prompted with a name, would remember so if there's anything I can help with, let me know.

I hope you enjoy yourselves.

I would recommend the Osmotherley Walking Shop as an excellent B&B. Email address: walkingshop@osmotherley.fsbusiness.co.uk. Tel 01609 883818.

Thanks for the responses. Do you suggest making the first stop at Osmotherley. I did the c2C last year and stayed at the ealking shop and found it excllent.
Any suggestions where not to stay.

Don't know if you still need suggestions but I'd recommend the following B&B in Saltburn - 'Merhba' - 11 Dundas Street West
Telephone: 01287 622566.
Cleveland. The couple were very walker-friendly and happily offered to do any laundry. Plus they had a good supply of Radox for aching limbs.

Good walk, in my opinion. I walked it in July/August 2004. I still have the list of B&Bs and, if you let me know where you are planning to stop, can supply the relevant details.

All the best,

Heatha

I did the C2C two years ago and the North Yorkshire Moors was my favorite part of the walk. Would I expect to see more of the same views? Thanks!

Sorry..It is too late and I am too tired. I mean.. would I expect to see some of the same views in the Cleveland Way that I saw during the C2C? I know it goes through Clay Bank top which was a stop on the C2C, but what about the rest? Thanks!
