Hey,
Myself and 3 other people are looking to do the dalesway in 60 hours including sleeping time as a sponsership for 'Cancer Research UK'. Do you think it can be done in that time?

Yes,providing you train properly. The walk is about 83 miles so I would suggest doing two 30 mile days with a final half day of 23 miles. It might be best to start in Bowness due to the section from Grassington to Ilkley being very easy.Route finding on the Bowness section is hard plus many stiles so it would be sensible to get this section out of the way when you are fresh.

On a walk like this blisters are always a problem so learn how to treat them before starting.

M,
I had planned to do this route also, using YHA's K/well and Dent and allowing 3 days inc. travel to (from Derbys), with just a bum bag. I agree with Tony that Bowness end would be slower and have postponed my plans for this reason with the days being short.
Starting Bowness the mileages are convenient - Dent 30m (approx), 30m Kettlewell, leaving 20 odd to Ilkley.(for Hostels that is)

Bus times considered I would be st. Ilkley approx 1pm Fri making K/well 5-6pm, steady day 2 to Dent (hostel) 27m (all day), but then day 3 becomes tight for me (to get back) with 30m+ , so as Tony says, with many stiles and wayfinding to slow me down, more daylight would be an advantage than is available at present.
Day 2 would be better longer for me, but then would cost more and I don't like bb's...I could bivi, or carry more?
I'm looking at 52 hrs slow running (leaving time for some staring). If you are walking you will need to crack on but it is still a reasonable time scale if fit.
