The Buck Inn at Buckden has at last changed hands and is now safe to visit. The new owners are working incredibly hard to try to bring the pub back to its former glory and need all the help they can get - please call in!

So glad to hear it! We'll be sure to pop in next time we're in the area.

I'd only been there once before -- not to stay, mind, due to the warnings we'd heard prior to our visit. Great building with incredible potential, (as well as its obvious past history), but of course not in good condition at all at the time of our visit.

I look forward to seeing what the new owners can do. Best wishes to them!

I too hope it regains popularity once more. My wife and I had a lovely lunch and a fair few drinks there, sat outside on a sunny warm day back in 95 or 96. We were doing the Dales Way over a liesurely 8 days and that day were walking from Kettwell to Yokenthwaite. It was so nice at the Buck Inn that we stayed for a full two and a half hours before wobbling on our way.
Dave.
