What a delightful community this is.

In an effort to understand each other just a little more I extend an invitation,to those inclined,to vote five pieces of music that send shivers of delight at the very mention of their title.
.....individual pieces,albums,CD,whatever for whatever reason.

Must dash...the butler needs my weekend clothing manifest prior to tomorrows departure.

.....oops,almost forgot. I feel that optimum entertainment value will be achieved if Aisleyne is moved in to the new BB house.
c'mon now........y'all know what to do.
(Yes..that means you Red Les, Kev and Liz....)

Well, it's difficult to limit it to 5 but the first bar of these makes me feel like I'm 21 again (except the last one which I only discovered recently)...

Elivis Costello: I Want You
Clash: London Calling
Smithereens: Girl Like You
Bob Dylan: Simple Twist of Fate
Prokofiev: Romeo & Juliet

Where to start oh BB!

I suspect you may enjoy the conundrums of the pataphysical and so too the jazz (and novels) of Boris Vian.

For my music, most things by Leonard Cohen, some of Lou Reid and plenty of early Bob Dylan mixed with a litle Eurythmics.

The Good DR BB asked for........ pieces of music that send shivers of delight at their very mention.

MarkF said........... Leonard Cohen, some of Lou Reid.!!

*Aghast* Two of the most boring, non musical voices, it has been my displeasure to listen to. Oh i bet you send yourself to sleep at night, listening to that rubbish. You must live alone, or whoever is with you must be suffering in silence, cos you must be putting them through hell.
God help them.

Ahh...."Chante" by Boris Vian

Ce disque resume bien le caractere de Boris Vian. Tout comme ses romans et nouvelles, les textes de ces chansons sont un melange d'absurde, de realisme et d'humour.La qualite des paroles merite 5 etoile.

Bonjour Argo......so we can contextualise your
sensitive musical critique, would you care to list your top five antidotes to the torpid world of Lou and Lennie?

Keep the music lists coming.

Sing-a-Song-a-Bongo
.........you know, the one that goes lah di dah di dahhhhh.

Hello Nimrod...... we can't let you off that lightly.
Extend the list to as many as you wish.

I'm intrigued.

What a great idea Dr BB. though I think that I'll take my songs from the ones I keep permanently on my micro MP3 player that I take on long walks with me for when I'm in my tent at night with a cup of Oxo.

1. Cat Stevens - Sad Lisa
2. Jethro Tull - Songs From the Woods
3. Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
4. Cat Stevens - Hard Headed Woman
5. Alan Parsons - Eye In the Sky

All top songs!
