Hey you guys

Anyone walking the WHW from 22-28 May this year? I know it's not great to start on the saturday but it was the most suitable day for all 3 of us who will be going.

Looking forward to it so much and fingers crossed the weather will hold up for it (been so unpredictable of late in Glasgow).

Any recommendations for good pubs other than the Clachan, The Drovers and the Clachaig would be good.

Hope to see some of you out there that week :-)

Hi there! I am starting on the 20th and finishing on the 27th. I am taking a short day to Balmaha. I suppose I may cross your way. I will accept all recommendations on good food. Thanks!

Did the walk end of March/beginning of April. Pubs - Balmaha - The Oak Tree. Walkers bar at Rowardennan. Inversnaid Bunkhouse ( Bottled beer but a splendid place ). Climbers Bar at the Kingshouse Hotel. Macdonald Hotel at Kinlochleven - Try the odd malt they have loads! Nevis bank Hotel when you finish. Oh, and the Walkers bar at the Inveroran Hotel. Almost forgot the Inverey Hotel in Tyndrum. All take plastic to run up a tab. All do decent grub.

For good food try:

The Oak Tree at Balmaha
The Drovers Inn - Loads of it and cheapish
Bridge of Orchy Hotel
Inversnaid Bunkhouse
Macdonald Hotel - Try the Haggis ( although the hotel is shortly to change hands )
Glen nevis Hotel Bar / Restaurant - Good way to finish the walk if your're camped there.

Beware - scottish Whiskey is more expensive up there than it is here ( Suffolk )
