We're starting our WHW on 29 April (hope it doesn't rain everyday! Question: The official route at Grid Ref 11857270 shows a sharp right turn out of the woods and onto the main road near Fort William. The OS map seems to show that from that grid ref, the woodland track continues north through the woods to a car park on the main road at grid ref 12207370. Does anyone know if we could continue on the woodland path to avoid that bit of road walking?

Bit late, you may have already done this by now. However, yes I can't see any reason, other than forest workings, why you couldn't continue along the forest track to meet the road further along. I went the other way along another forest track further back, to go to the YHA hostel.
