Part 1. I finally managed to edit my Go Pro video of the 2014 race.
26 minutes long and is from the start in Edale to just beyond halfway, 145 miles in just over 3 days in January.
It's raw, basic and commentary is repetitive in places but i think it gives a good idea of the race from a competitors perspective.
Hope you are a Stones fan!

Joss is a legend of British fell running. He sent me a lovely letter following my failure through injury, during an attempt of his Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge, some 18 years ago.
Prior to Joss's record run, the record for the PW by Alan Heaton of 4 day 4 hours, brings into context just how good was Pavel Paloncy's 2014 Spine race win in 4 days 14 hours 45 minutes.
Unlike the other record breakers, Pavels was in Winter with 15 hours of darkness each day. Alan and Joss both had pacers who carried any gear, and did the navigating. Pavel was on his own, had to navigate himself and carry compulsory gear of around 6 Kg plus food and water.
Mike Hartley holds the current record from July, 1989 in 2 days 17 hours 20 minutes.
Dave.

Well done Dave. Those conditions and mileages would have been tough on everything, not least the feet! Hat's off to you.
Cheers, George

Thanks George, glad you found it interesting. Sold the Go Pro shortly afterwards as my PC wouldn't accept it's editing software.
I'm not doing the Spine in 2016 but will be volunteering to get a decent discount on the 2017 race, hoping to be the first 70 year old to enter and finish!?
Dave.
