For those of you that have walked the SWCP, or parts of it, you may wish to vote for it receiving a British Travel Award. When I walked it, like a lot of other walks, I met lots of people from overseas that came to Britain to enjoy our landscape. Even if you have not walked it you may care to lift the profile of the National Trails by voting for it anyway.

It is a lovely walk, although I think that I am getting too decrepit I must admit there is a bit of me that thinks perhaps I'll do it again. The benefit of this one is that if the weather looked fair I wouldn't need much pre-planning as long as I took a tent. The last time I walked the whole way I didn't need to use my tent at all as I found a B&B or a youth hostel every night without booking in advance apart from a couple of occasions when I was told there might be a problem in finding available accommodation.
