Anyone done it before?

I've often thought it would be good make it a 'circular' rather than there and back - Wainwright's route out and own route return - could be a 'planning challenge' not to use the same section twice. The Vale of Mowbray could be interesting... you could be allowed to cross your outward route though maybe, though not use it in reverese..?

It is in my plans for 2018. Was going to do the standard c2c but with the variant high/low level routes; different ways over Nine Standards etc to give it variety. Was going to start at Ravenscar and do half the LWW as the first day.
19 day plan. Stop at Ennerdale Bridge for 2 nights and do St bees and back as one day.

Yes, high and low routes sound good

Not enough time for a back to back this year so a nice steady 10 normal route starting 9th May. firth time this way. May do the E-w for the first time in Sept.

Hopefully the weather will have sorted itself out by then, they are promising better weather in late May/June but perhaps it will be a bit earlier. The paths may still be a bit "wet"! Are you camping or B&B? I'll be off finishing the last bit of Lejog that a day or so after you start your C2C.
