The three part series starts this Friday at 21.00 on BBC2.

"In a new three-part travelogue series for BBC Two, seven famous (???) faces are stripped of their everyday comforts to live as modern day pilgrims as they set out on the famous medieval pilgrimage, the Camino de Santiago."

Providing nothing goes wrong between now and 26 April 2019, I am off to walk the c. 500 miles of the Camino Way from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago.

Sorry that didn't work. Perhaps it was too long.

Well I'll try typing straight on here rather than cut and paste. The Camino Frances was really enjoyable, totally different to my "normal" long distance walks in the UK. Walking with others in sight for the majority of the 500 miles is not something that I would plan for but on this occasion I found it added to my enjoyment, stopping after a couple of hours for a tortilla and a fresh orange juice rather than my normal head down until I stop at the end. The route is so well signed that you wouldn't need any maps etc except to find your accommodation. Whilst I am not religious I am sure that those with a faith would find it even more worthwhile. Happy to give more advice/help if anyone wants to send a message.
