If you are referring to Slogger then he is on another website, message me if you don't know where that is.

Well, the 'fad' diet is going very well...

Thanks for the info.

Posting here for others interested in any future 'fast and light' efforts...

Sadly, for various reasons, the elusive 'window of opportunity' seems to be closing on an attempt at this new line for this year, though reccying various sections is looking like a possibility.

Still at it...

That 'fad' diet is proving extremely worthwhile too - really is a 'Game Changer' - must be down to all those antioxidants! Getting very little in the way of DOMS and aches and pains in general - should have done it years ago!

When I first got the idea for this in the late 70's I decided that 12lbs was the safest maximum sack weight for running distance. Nowadays I'm thinking more like 10lbs (considering age) so still working to the 7lbs base weight. Six would be better but with tent it starts to get tight...
Last yrs 7lb base wt only allowed for 1 phone bank charge (2 others planned would have had to rely on camp site sockets), but this year with a little juggling (and 120gm cuben fiber sack...) plan is to use bigger phone bank but even with a Jet Boil Stash on pre-order, I'm just 2 grams over budget (and that's including a Sigg thermos for the flask 'cooking')
The bigger pan of the Stash will allow for larger meal portions also.

I had a 'shouter' yesterday, first in a while. Approaching a former station platform area on part of my route he called out: 'Sorry mate, you've missed 'train!' smile
- sometimes the juice runs thick and fast...
So I had to look it up... the last passenger train from there was in 1962 - I'd have been ten...

When are you planning to walk/run/cycle it?

To those individuals watching these forums, the Coast to Coast walk is extremely good, with plenty of stunning scenery and good pubs along the way. Give it a try, Sherpa can transport your luggage/backpack and arrange accommodation if needed.

I don't work for them or know anybody that does and I haven't got a financial interest in the company but I hear good reports about them.

Good question... flimsy kit dictates warm weather for sure.
On foot planned - attempt to better that 3 days 22 hrs in 2016.
All going well - no issues. Slow build-up since last October.
Not up to 20 milers yet though, so anything can happen...

Managed to keep up the training despite 'the troubles' but it doesn't help. Last year I got fit enough, but refused to wear a face mask all day on journey up, so by time I'd planned alternative with car and van, it got to September and it was too late to go for it...

Did a mock-up of the Stash stove pan size yesterday, only to realise, after a lot of head scratching trying to fit the kit into the sack, that I'd got the dimensions the wrong way round... so remade one today at 5.1" dia (instead of tall) - just an inch but made a hell of a difference. The Terra Nova CF 20L sack is smaller than the std sack which don't help. Can't see any way of getting some pre-packs of muesli in never mind 3 lbs of food though tbh...
