That 'fad' diet is proving extremely worthwhile too - really is a 'Game Changer' - must be down to all those antioxidants! Getting very little in the way of DOMS and aches and pains in general - should have done it years ago!
When I first got the idea for this in the late 70's I decided that 12lbs was the safest maximum sack weight for running distance. Nowadays I'm thinking more like 10lbs (considering age) so still working to the 7lbs base weight. Six would be better but with tent it starts to get tight...
Last yrs 7lb base wt only allowed for 1 phone bank charge (2 others planned would have had to rely on camp site sockets), but this year with a little juggling (and 120gm cuben fiber sack...) plan is to use bigger phone bank but even with a Jet Boil Stash on pre-order, I'm just 2 grams over budget (and that's including a Sigg thermos for the flask 'cooking')
The bigger pan of the Stash will allow for larger meal portions also.
I had a 'shouter' yesterday, first in a while. Approaching a former station platform area on part of my route he called out: 'Sorry mate, you've missed 'train!'
- sometimes the juice runs thick and fast...
So I had to look it up... the last passenger train from there was in 1962 - I'd have been ten...
