Hi Onslow,
Have a great C2C. Ive run 25 marathons, my first took just under 4hours and I walked a lot of it after halfway, then I learnt how to race them and got my time down to 2hrs 34min in my 46th year. The first one was more of a challenge than my fastest. Nowadays aproaching my 60th year, its a challenge just to try and get out and do some training. The speed is long gone, but the stamina is still there and I still enjoy testing myself, hence my non stoppers.
Regarding our wonderful mountain rescue teams. I dont think you would find any one of them criticising someone out on a challenge providing they were adequately equipped and well prepared, as they are the product of bold and daring activities themselves.
