As we covered trains, planes and busses so far on the Cotswold Way walk, I though I might add another question.

Where is the best place to get a pay as you go sim card for my mobile.

The last time I did a walk I had my Irish Vodaphone sim and it cost me a fortune to call a place a few miles away.

So I think I will just get a local sim this time. So is there a place at Heathrow (never actualy looked for one everytime I passed through before) where I can pick one up and if not can I get one at Chipping Campden?

Most newsagents or gadgety market stalls sell them for about a tenner.

Hi Onslow, I don't 'do' mob phones but have it on good authority Tesco supermkts do them for 4.99. I don't understand the in and outs but you could check here: http://www.tescophones.com/sim_only.aspx?pc=22&us=1&h=1

Just came back from my Cotswold walk.

What I ended up doing was going to the Vodaphone shop at Paddington and picked up a pay as you go sim for my phone. The card cost 2 pounds (not sure if I got 2 pounds of credit or not).

For 20 pounds I had more than enough credit for making UK calls and recieving international calls for the week I was there.

There was an Orange office at Paddington also, but I think that the Vodaphone coverage is a bit better in remote locations. What I did find out is that finding a signal out there was difficult at times.
