My parents are walking the Ribble Way this June, has anyone walked this way before? Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Robbie

Robbie,
Are they walking it from Longton Marshes to the Source or the other way round? I back packed some years ago with friends over 5 days. It was quite testing with a heavy pack. I have done many sections, walking or running since, and have walked it non stop, from the source to Longton in 26 hours. The river Ribble is a beautiful river which most people fail to realise, and the villages it runs through are equally so. By far the hardest leg is from Ribchester to Gisburn, mind you it poured down all day when we did it.
Dave.

Thanks Slogger,
They are starting at Longton Marshes and plan to cpmplete it in 7 stages, I will be picking them up from the road below the source. They will be splitting the section from Ribchester to Gisburn in 2. Any particular reason while this is the hardest, apart from the rain!? Your right about the rivers beauty, that could be said about many parts of the country which most people never see, I'm happy that they leave it to us!
Many thanks,
Robbie
