Cassie and I have just had a superb 6-day jaunt across the path from east to west. If anyone wants a dog-friendly accommodation list I'll be happy to oblige. Although we were walking into the weather it was a great walk and the breeze in our faces kept us cool. Cassie will be too old to accompany me for a similar distance next year so this was her last LDP.

A sedate pace with a dog will probably mean about 8 walking days.with the following stops.
Wallsend
Newburn
East Wallhouses
Chollerford
Once Brewed
Gilsland
Walton
Carlisle
Bowness

This is mainly 8-10 mile days for the most part except for an 11 mile start and a 14 mile finish.

You could drop it to 7 days by doing Once Brewed to Walton but that will be a 16 mile day with some crag climbing in the begining.

Thanks but 8 -10 miles a day!!!!!! I might be the wrong side of 50 and bald but I am not ready for the knackersyard yet and the dog is superfit - we did the C2C in 7 days and he wanted more. And we are planning the PW in 10 days next year.

I think 6 days is much more than sedate enough even for the missus - even if I do have to get the whip out occasionally.
