I heard Julia Bradbury set out on the Coast to Coast on Friday 5th September to film for the TV series similar to the Wainwright walks to be screened next spring.
The first two days on the walk for her must have been horrendous with pouring down rain and flooding around St.Bees and the Lake District.
Other TV celebrities I heard who have done the Coast to Coast this year are Frank Skinner and John Middleton the vicar on Emmerdale.

Peter
re who is Julia Bradbury,
well the lady has done a series of walks, that have been shown on the B.B.C., i beleive entitled ''walking in Wainwright's footstep's''
not only that but also done serious rock climbing.
some of the walks the lady has done has resulted in a big increase in the number of walkers on some of the lake district fells

I planning my 5th crossing of Coast to Coast and probably will be in April next year, due to much expected large influx of 1st time Coast to Coaster's after there have watched the TV series. I believe the BBC series with Julia Bradbury and Eric Robson is to be shown in Spring, next year. Although I did the enjoy the one that Wainwright did with Eric Robson back in 1989 and I did my 1st Coast to Coast in 1990, funny enough.

I wouldnt mind betting the C2C is the most repeated route of all the LDPs. Why do people keep coming back and doing the route time and time again. I know some sort of get a fixation with a route, there are many that have done the Offa's Dyke path repeatedly and the Pennine Way. I can understand it if they do many other routes in between times, but somehow I get the impression that some, because they have had such a good time on a paticular route, forsake all the others and just return to that same one again and again. Am I right or wrong?
Dave.

She has her own website if you are interested www.juliabradbury.com Judging by the quality of some of the responses here, it would appear that she is something of a walker's pin-up.

If you click on Julia's website and then the link to the Wainwright walks, here: http://www.juliabradbury.com/walks.html
The background looks like St Bees head to me?
