She's alright but I wonder how she would look if she was backpacking for a couple of weeks and didn't have a makeup girl to attend to her every morning?

Can I respectfully suggest that this thread is beginning to descend into behind the bikesheds boy talk? Nothing against a bit of banter here guys, but .a. we should perhaps remember that a half of the human race is not male and that some of that other half of the human race are registered on the C2C site and perhaps we should show a little more respect and dignity - and .b. whilst I think I've only ever seen one of Julia Bradbury's programmes, my most enduring memory of it was that she seemed like a spirited individual who might encourage particularly younger people to want to venture out walking - which in my book seems like a good thing.

Of course I wouldn't want to deny that many boys tend to talk about whether or not girls are attractive - but perhaps we should do it in private? Really - questioning whether or not Julia Bradbury would be attractive with or without make-up!!!! Come on - have any of us men looked in a mirror lately - can we all say we are god's gift to humanity?

Guys - can we talk about something else now?

We are living in 2008,not 1908.Anyone who puts themselves in the public eye is open to this kind of scrutiny. My argument is that she is simply chosen for the job as she is a bit of "skirt" and has a quite pleasant personality.I am quite sure a more well informed presenter, male or female, could have been found who had a better grasp of their subject. She was chosen for the climbing programme as she's "girly" and prone to crying fits which makes for good TV.If they had chosen a stronger woman who didn't crack under pressure it wouldn't have made such good viewing. On all the climbs she was on a very tight top rope and never in any danger. To regard her as a competent climber is clearly wrong. Now,if she had led one of the climbs, even the easiest one,it would have been entirely different as she would have been subjecting herself to some serious risks.

Come on sam, you can do better than that! What do we have to do to get you back to the friendly simple fellow who shares his sad poetry and offers for sale his single tent?

What do you proof read by the way, an internet fashion comic for those with laser vision? Is this a home job that doesn't require contact with real people?

And how was the "flim" industry in your day Sam? Seems to have made one quite irritable.

What I don't understand is how 'sea shore sam', with posts like "your a knob head" ( 5th Sept ), can work as a Proof Redaer when he doesn't know thw difference between 'you're' and 'your'.

Unfortunately, the iplayer seems to be available only for UK residents. They say they are working on an international version, but it's not available here in the States yet. Maybe by next spring when it airs....?

Whatever one thinks about Julia Bradbury, she can at least get a good discussion going on here. There wouldn't have been 33 replies to an announcement that say Ann Widdecombe was being filmed on the Coast to Coast for a TV series.
