it was not the drove road and if we had turned right we would have walked in a semi circle and come to the drove road.
i know others that have been mislead there as well.
all the best when you do the walks you have planned

It is intended we will start at the White Horse and do the 34 mile route, calling in at Chop Gate and finishing at ROseberry Topping. 6.00am start and hopefully finishing at 9.00pm.

hi Nimrod
looking in my scrapbook, those times should let you have a good session in the Buck Inn.
looking again i think we must have been motoring that day, 12hours 12minutes for the short route. no wonder though,i was walking with speed merchant John McClure, the rest of the party, R.H.Harkus , W. Travil and S.Thompson took 13Hours 10 Minutes.

Hi Nimrod,
have been busy trying to find if the Yorkshire wayfarers had web site ( typed in www.yorkshirewayfarers,com and got a link to the white rose walk through L.D.W
it gives an address for leaflets or badges for W.R.Walk
also got on to other clubs one at Harrogate and one at York

It will take less time with a smaller group - my groups tend to be over thirty.
I do have the address for GE Garbutt, the Recorder of the White Rose Walk.
Do you know anywhere that may have books on the WR Walk?

i am sure George Garbutt
could point you in the right direction for a book on the WR Walk as he wrote a book on it.

i got the above missile off as i though you might catch it before you go to work, then having read your post again i agree.
small parties travels faster, as does a lone walker.
and it is not the folk you meet who hold you up, it is the slow coaches in front ( of which i am one)

The global rise of fuel costs has triggered a chain reaction resulting to the price of commodities.
