I am still planning to walk it next year although I don't intend to decide upon the start date until the time so that I can look at the weather. Likely start time would be the middle of April or early May starting from Lands End along the Northern coast on the SWCP to Barnstable then Tarka Trail, Macmillan Way West, Samaritans Way South West, West Mendip Way, Cheddar Valley Railway Walk etc to the start of Offas Dyke. Up Offas Dyke to Bronygarth then across to the Pennine Way using the Maelor Way, South Cheshire Way, Cheshire Ring Canal Walk, Etherow-Goyt Valley Way and the Trans Pennine Trail. After Byrness leave the PW and go to Jedburgh then St. Cuthberts Way and Southern Upland Way to the West Highland Way to Fort William, then the Great Glen Way to Inverness (or just short of Inverness) and then the last leg to JOG - likely to decide my route when I get there! I need to review the whole route more closely but that is roughly what I am thinking. Will be taking tent and sleeping bag but no cooking equipment and I will stay at youth hostels and B&Bs fairly frequently and eat/drink in pubs in the evening. Not likely to book accommodation but just try and find one when I get to where I want to stop. I happily walk by myself or with others although I don't normally walk together as I like to walk at my pace and stop whenever I want.
