Just cycled C2C over 3 days with Sherpa baggage transfer.
Our luggage arrived as if by magic at our first stopping point in Penrith (in spite of humorous landlord who tried to wind us up).
Unfortunately by day 2 in Rookhope the luggage wasn't there. A phone call to Sherpa revealed that it had been left in Penrith. They promised to have it with us by 8pm. We had to forego shower and change of clothes, and go and eat in the pub in our sweaty bike gear - luckily all the other customers were in a similar state, apparently through choice!
On our way back to our B&B we were stopped by a van asking if we knew the way to Fell House - as this was our accommodation, we not only knew the way but spotted our bags in the back! So we got a lift up the steep and longish track and actually got to meet a Sherpa driver.
Day 3 went perfectly, and we would recommend Sherpa and use them again. They pulled out all the stops to get our stuff to us, but I hope a thorough investigation into what went wrong will prevent it from happening again.
