She also made a comment elsewhere giving her view that Catbells was popular because of its "proximity to Windermere" - leaving me feeling even less convinced by her! And when I read her comment above about Catbells being popular because of its "proximity to Windermere", I felt even less convinced by her! Of course, this is probably blasphemy to her many fans...! Torty, I've never been bowled over by her enough to take such notice of her clothing but you make valid non-blasphemous comments.

I passed by her and her crew on a few occasions only to find they had 'leapfrogged' ahead of me in their vehicle to film at a further location. Still, nice that they've made a documentary on the C2C, I'm hoping it will eventually surface down here in NZ. _________________________ Dances With Marmots

She owns and lives in a basement flat in London and owns a hundred pairs of shoes.

In the last programme she said she was spending the morning looking round Richmond, and then walking from Richmond to Ingleby Cross in the afternoon - I imagine Slogger could do this - but not our Julia. And then she was saying that she was doing from Ingleby Cross to Blakey Ridge in one day - again having visited the ruined priory up from Ingleby in the morning. Again - a distance that some could do, but I can't see Julia doing it. Plus the sunshine looked distinctly evening by the time she reached Urra - but then not so at Blowith. Having said all of this though - I've enjoyed the programme - it takes me back to when I walked it. It is a bit contrived in parts - but then TV programmes are contrived aren't they? I don't have a problem with the presenter - I think she makes a better presenter than Mr Lizard would.

tim smith Full Member Registered: 28/10/06 Posts: 1038 Loc: england	there would be a lot of film shot,that would have to be edited and you know if you only do a walk once, one can get mixed up which area comes where, i know i won ten whole shilling's from a walking mate. we had walked the Pennine way, years later we devised a walk from Middleton in Teesdale, following the P.W. up to Cow Green reservoir. and john made referrence to a place we would come to, and no it was before Middleton, he bet me it was not. when the BBC filmed the Lyke Wake Walk, Bill Cowley said they had him going up the Wainstone 2 or 3 times before they got it right. the main party of walkers would be at Ravenscar ages before the film crew. no the lady said she was going to walk the whole of the way and i am not going to call her a liar. _________________________ ern

I empathise with Ern's comments here. As someone who has appeared on television and radio,(both quizzes) it is surprising how the director wants you to repeat an answer or even a responce. JB may have walked the whole way,but sometimes it could be over a couple of days,even though on television it will be seen as one day. Nimrod
