Thanks for infor we will have to try that but have just tried putting are 5 min tent up which took 30 mins but we were quicker taking it down

Practice makes perfect - after 2 weeks I'm sure you'll be fine...

Don't know how anyone else feels about this, but I never fold / roll the tent up after use. I just screw it up either in a stuff sack or loose in the bottom of my rucksack. Saves faffing about, and prevents the tent being folded in the same place time after time which could damage the fabric.

Woo, travelling to St Bees tomorrow to start on Tuesday.

Bag packed. Route planned (for a couple of days). Weather looks good, should be able to make it through the Lakes without rain...

What's it like to camp? are there camp sites? can one book a caravan or something? I guess we left it too late to book b & b's... Any suggestions gratefully received! First time hiking in UK - more used to Himalayas where there are horses & porters to carry baggage & help generally!

hi sorry slow answering grandaughter is 12 yes we both camped we did a few nights wild camping and a few nights on sites which were very busy we just wanted to sleep but some kids wanted to play cricket right by are tent apart from that it was great

hi onlyme,3 of us setting off 23rd june,we alsointend to mix wild camping with a few sites.Could you please tell us where you camped and which were your favorites? cheers.

we to will be starting on the 23rd june hopefully going up 22nd night to get an early start, we're easy to spot 3 overweight hairy blokes with to much ambition we're planning to meander the route in about 14days
