Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Boots and socks; the Lowa's were goretex lined which kept my feet dry except under the most sloshy conditions. My inner socks were thin, double skinned Wrights which worked perfectly with the heavy Smartwool socks on top.

After using several other boots on LDPs, these fit MY feet perfectly and, with the
sock combination and the use of preventive plasters on potential hot spots, kept my feet cosy and blister free.

Well done Gregg, as I read your account of the walk I was with you every step, it brought back such wonderful memories of a wonderful walk.

You are a great inspriation to all those thinking of doing the c2c
