I am just starting to plan the Hadrian's Wall walk with my kids this summer. Does anyone have any tips on secure parking at either end - preferably Bowness on Solway?

Also, any experience on taking kids? I have 2 pretty fit boys 9 & this too ambitious for them??

Hope not as they are really keen!

I googled Bowness-on-Solway and I found a National Trails site that states:

There is no car parking in Bowness-on-Solway, so please use either the AD 122 or No 93 buses to get to or leave the village.
The older we get, the better we were.

The kids will just lap it up. Make it fun for them, and watch them go!
The way you describe them, they will have no problem.
The next question is obvious, isn't it...but having just walked the middle, popular section of the Wall I can assure you that people from under 10 to over 70 seem to be having a great time there.
Good food and beer at Twice Brewed Inn, by the way.

What accomadation are you using. If using a B&B then you may find one in Carlisle that will make space for your car for the week. Especially if you have a night at the start, then train to Newcastle and the penultimate day/night before getting the bus back to collect the car.

The one we used kept a rucksack for the day so we only needed a daysack for the last day.
