Just finished the C2C for the second time.
Have found out that the filming of this series was done over 2 years, she only walked very small amounts of the walk and she had a stand in for the long shots.

The preparation of the series may have took two years, but the actual filming only took place last September. As for a stand in on the long shots,I don't think there was a stand in so that Julia didn't have to do that bit,it may have something to do with logistics.

As is evident from the fact that we're on to page 19 of this thread, there was much discussion about this the first time round! The accepted view seemed to be that long shots were done by a stand-in. As for the rest, whether she did it all or not I don't know, but she clearly didn't walk it day in, day out as most of us have. I remember noticing various examples where she had switched from one jacket to another on successive shots on the same day, and other such inconsistencies.

Still, it was good to watch all the same!

Tim,
I was given this information by a couple of B & B owners on route. I was told also that she was air lifted from Keld due to other filming commitments and she was driven by car up the steep climb out of Grosmont.
I appreciate that she could not be filmed for the entire walk but she makes out at the begining of the series that she walks the entire route. She only wishes!!!

And Anthony Hopkins doesn't actually eat people. I have just watched the second episode, and she is either a very good actress or it was clearly evident of her exhaustion coming down from Kidsty Pike and entering Shap.
I don't see why this debate is going on. If she did not do the entire walk due to filming commitments or any other reason,so far for me she has captured the essence of the C2C.

so again we have a friend off a friend told me.
if you saw her with your own eyes maybe yes .

Now have have you walked the coast to coast and have people doubted you .
I have walked it twice and I did for my own enjoyment.
people can say I did not walk it , personaly I don't care what people say i know I walked it and that is that.
one might say , yes, but the lady in question made money out of it, so what, is that what is nagging at the nit pickers
