Maps are heavy! And you need about 10 for the Pennine way!
Yes, maps are always a problem when several are needed!
Luckily for the PW, I took a small guidebook "The Pennine Way" by Martin Collins, published by Cicerone press.
175mm x 120mm x 10mm
The cover is 'plasticised' which proved very practical when things got a bit damp.
It covered the entire trail with description and coloured topographic strip maps reproduced on each page. Also included info such as accomodation, camps, resupply points etc.
Worth checking out. I found it excellent and all that was needed.
