Hi Lee, I did the C2C in mid September and needed clothes for hot weather and cold. Definately take a warm hat, fleece and waterproof jacket. Mountain tops can be freezing cold/misty at any time of the year and without the right gear you could get into trouble...yes, even in June!

1975, if I remember rightly :-)

OP, all the above is good advice, though the extremes which are mentioned are possible but not probable. The probability is that you will have changeable weather, warm and sunny at times but also cloudy and wet at other times. Daytime temperatures mostly between 15 and 20 Celsius in valleys, but less on the hills, where wind chill is also a factor.

(I think) it was probably 1976. I was married in August 1975 (I think) and on our honeymoon (appropriately at Crackpot) the weather was was a tad damp (I think).

Are you sure about that now SC?
Having experienced just the one starry night in Upper Swaledale, I could think of nothing more romantic than a stroll up out of Keld to view the night sky... ah, where was I when I was young..?
You should, nay MUST, return...

Romance? Yes, it must have been 1976 then.
