Is Shap to Kirkby Stephen (21miles) an easy 21mile or a right painful one?

It's much flatter than the lakes, mostly meadow walking, but I think it's a bit of a trudge. There's not much to look at compared with the previous few days. Also, depending on where your accommodation is, you might have an extra mile walking through Kirkby Stephen.

I used ******* on the shap -kirkby Stephen leg to save on lugging my gear, I knew it was a boring leg of the trail so I put my head down and yomped it.. If I do the C2C again I will get the bus on this leg haha

You shouldn't have any difficulty with that pace, although it is a bit too relaxed for me. I like to walk for more than 6 hours at an average of 2.5mph. However at your projected pace/mileage you will have plenty of time for stop off's etc en route.
Dave.
