HB, wish I'd been up the Lion when a vintage tractor rally was on...
thanks for sharing your experiences - looks like you had a great time - that last pic is priceless - all sat on the end of the bed - lol!
No wonder the pics are good, what with your fancy camera!

What a nice writeup of your experiences and how you ladies got on together. The walk is quite addictive; I may be having another go at it in a couple of years. I particularly liked the photo of all you walkers in front of Arncliffe Arms. The two times I was there it was either pouring rain or dark. Oh, and the watering hole at Urra was special - great and unexpected shot of a pothole.
Thanks for the memories!

Hi there Flying scotsman, named yourself after the famous train eh? Anyway have a wonderful and safe crossing, to say that I wish I was also doing it again this year points me out as a right anorak! But that is what I would like to have done.... dosh is a bit short though.
Let us know how it goes, it's always good to hear of the experience of others as it's different for everyone.
Good luck.

Hi there lightweightmick, thank you for your nice comments, the rally was awsome, a sight to behold, something I have never seen before. I do however, remember my father and brothers driving some of these beast when I was much younger.

The camera is a Pentax X70 and I love it, the trouble is with a large camera, there is no where to put it when you are walking; and I worry about it getting wet if it's not in it's waterproof bag.

The cat... I love her too, she was in kitten while we were there and a little on the chubby side, nothing to do with the beer! Or maybe it had. There is something about Tan Hill that makes me feel like I have just come home, it reminds me so much of how life used to be like out in the country.

When I did part of Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast and Pennine Way in May this year. Me and my mate camped at Tan Hill, needless to say, we had a hour of heavy rain from Thwaite to Tan Hill.

I would loved a hot shower, but needless it was not to be, Pub guests were priory. The pub is in a lovely setting, although can be a bit windy up there for camping and the pitch is a bit of a rough and tumble affair.

I was going to include Tan Hill as part of C2C, but would rather pay for a decent pitch down in Keld or Muker and a hot shower as well.
