Hi. We're all booked up to do the West Highland Way in May this year.We're also planning to do the Great Glen Way but have not,as yet planned our itinery.We've just found out that we have more time on our hands than we first thought. We can't alter our WHW schedule but thought we could maybe have two nights at a couple of places during the GGW.
Could anyone advise us of any places on the Great Glen that are good for an extra days exploring/walking etc ?

If I was doing it again and had some spare days I would spend a day at Fort William (or two days if the visibility is good enough to walk up Ben Nevis) and another at Fort Augustus. Inverness deserves a bit more time than I spent to look around, there were lots of open spaces and parks that I didn't really appreciate in my push for the finish.

The Great Glen Way ain't so great.
