North Face Hedgehog shoes again, but undecided whether to go with my size 46 worn last time, which allows for two pair of socks or my size 45 which will only allow for one pair, or possibly two thinner ones.
Got a new waterproof camera, Olympus 14mp, with a spare battery, giving loads of shots on a 4g card or 1.5 hours of video, so hope to take a few moving shots and put it all on my Blogger (assuming I get across, of course).

Osprey sac ......2.3lbs.
Sleep mat.........0.25lbs
Sleeping bag......1.47lbs
Tent & pegs.......1.68lbs
1 litre water.....2.1lbs
Total.............7.8lbs.

Everything else comes in at 10lbs.
Jacket
waterproof trousers
shorts
Gaiters
Tracksters
1.pr boxers
2 pair thin socks
Goretex socks
2 thin thermal top
windshirt
cap
buff
Phone
camera
headtorch
guidebook/map & case/compass
cereal bars etc
Nuun tablets
small 1st aid kit
glasses
tape
wallet (heavy)
Emergency food (pkt choc digestives)

Don't really see what I can cut out, apart from maybe Cap OR Buff, NO emergency food, LESS Cereal bars, NO tracksters, NO maps.
Leaving all that would only save one pound at best, so looks like I'm stuck with 18lb, but that is for absolutely everything so not too bad I guess.
Dave.

What sleep mat are you using Dave? I was contemplating going without to save the space and weight as my Thermarest is a bit bulky, but I'd rather not.

Thanks everyone.
Re; Sleepmat. I'm just taking the back padding out of my OMM sac. It's about 1 metre in length an is made of amaterial similar to a firm sit mat. Not much cushioning, but some insulation, my jacket will have to do for under my legs (If it's not wet).
Waterproofs: I may take my Berghaus Paclite Jacket, which is quite light. I have recently purchased a Dare2B very lightweight waterproof top, but I think it would be more suitable for running.
I always find unlined jackets can be cold during prolonged periods of rain and affect the under clothing insulation. My waterproof trousers are very light, I also have a pair of 3 layer Goretex ones but they are far too heavy.
Dave.

Thanks for that, Dave. May look at that 20l OMM backpack now so that I can use the padding as bedding instead of the 20l I have at the mo. I've been worring about sleep insulation for my back.

Good luck.

Change of plan, I am now switching back to my OMM Jirishaca 35 ltr.
The Osprey is a daysac and doesn't feel right with almost 20 lbs.
HP, see: http://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/o...compressor.html
Tent and everything fits inside except that I am attaching a chest pouch too as its so handy.
Dave.

GOOD LUCK DAVE.
Hope the seven seas joint care isn't required, and the compeed stays locked away in the first aid bag.

I won't mention the "W" word. Just in case it turns.

My feet appear to have heard about this next attempt and are rebelling as we speak.............I may have to leave them at home and do the walk on my knees.
