I went to see my doctor the other day about flutterings in my chest. Turned out to be an inflamation of the gullet near the stomach junction. Got some pills that have put things right. Meanwhile, I was talking to him about my weight: which varies between 195lbs to 202lbs: and complained that I never seemed to be able to get my weight down to the levels you see quoted in magazines for body mass. Doctor told me that he had absolutely no worries about my weight at the moment and that at my age the most important thing was regular walking exercise to keep brain and body fit. So there you go....forget jogging, diets and starvation....just keep trekking.

If the cure is to "keep walking" who are we to argue? I'd stick rigidly to his suggestions.

Getting out walking seems to be loosening things up again. Bring it on.

Of course I don't consider myself old yet, but it does seem to be a feature of social occasions now that me and my friends tend to talk a lot more about ailments. Does that wear off as you get older?

Pensioner in 2025 (or a bit later no doubt by the time this Govt has had their way).

Do these aches and pains occur all year or at a particular season of the year?

Eventually, gravity wins...my legs are fine, but my eyelids are down around my knees. Keep on trekking. Up you go!

Dave I'd used a smaller image, but now have linked to the full-size image. It does say no larger than 80*80 pixels but obviously downsizes pics automatically anyway.
It was taken in Richmond on last year's recce - just reapplied a layer of superglue while the kettle boils

Welcome to the human race Slogger. Now is the time to climb Kilimanjaro and show the world what we true believers can do.

Ray, running your 4m time for this year through an age grade calculator puts you at 50.82%. Most runners come in at around 50% - so you not as bad as you think mate! My best (ie. quickest for AG) run this year so far (3.6m@9.46m/m) only puts me to 53% and I doubt I'll get it up to 60% lol

see for yourself try it here
