We are four ladies with ages ranging from Mid 50's to 70. We are all fairly fit and walk regularly and have done a number of long distance walks, Herriot Way, St Cuthberts Way, C2C all within the last 4 years.

We are planning to walk the WHW of 7 days in June this year and are wondering if there is anything we need to be aware of.

If you are walking the Way from June 18th to 24th and see four ladies trudging along give us a wave and an hello.

Midges, perhaps. After those walks I think you'll find it relatively easy. I posted some notes about places we stayed and liked or didn't like here:

I can think of only one spot (along the side of Loch Lomond) where the path was at all tricky (a narrow squeeze between a rock and the water). The gradients get a little steeper towards the end but are not as difficult as the Lake District parts of the C2C.

Hi Vextasy thanks for the comment. I have looked at your web page and the notes are very helpful. Thanks again D
