Well done indeed Alan, amazing effort. I particulary liked the part where you said you ran a while to break up the boredom lol

Well done, Alan. Good report and interesting points on pubs and cafe,

I will note them for my East to West Coast to Coast in August.

Regarding the section between Carlton Bank and Clay Bank, you could of taken the Jet Miner's track, which is a time-saver and avoids the climbs of Cringle Moor, Cold Moor and the Wainstones.

Thanks Alan. Congratulations. Good info for my own sub-five day attempt, which I start at the end of next week at midnight on Sat 18 June. Not sure how much running I'll be doing to break up the boredom, though!

Well done Alan i am doing the walk again next year only this time with friends i crossed from west-east in 12 days for the first time. There was a time i wanted do it quicker but i just couldnt take in all the scenery if i walked quicker, hoping next year were i know the way(i think) we can relax and visit a few pubs for longer

Superb Alan, well done. Wish I could get my sack weight down to yours and get through without blisters.
As Mick says you will be hooked now, and know, or will in a day or two, that an E - W just has to be done!
I think that after Brian and Mick succeed in their crossings soon, that all four of us should get together for an attempt at a joint 4 dayer next year.
Congrats again.
Dave.
