My feet appear to have heard about this next attempt and are rebelling as we speak.............I may have to leave them at home and do the walk on my knees.

Thanks for that Harland. I am glad you enjoyed it.
All I have to do now is persuade Mrs RT to let me off the leash again, and I can do it again.

Congratulations on finishing! Really enjoyed reading this, and viewing the pics - so much so that I have just phoned the present wife to agree to doing the crossing again ourselves in 2015 when we will have hopefully retired!

Fantastic, great Blog, really enjoyed it, well done. You did especially well to get back on itinerary from Grasmere to Shap.

A great account of a wonderful walk, laughed through most of it and had to re-read most sections. Sorry to hear about the painful feet, but you can't expect to do such a walk without some pain somewhere.

I have done the walk twice and am thinking of doing it again... well that's if I can get my walking buddies to join me.

Currently doing the Angles way (Suffolk/Norfolk boarders), no hills... well a couple of hillocks, I live right on the route and decided to get those boots out and do a section of it most weeks.

Thanks Dave.
I think that is where my feet really started to play up.

If you see someone looking quite lost, and bemused, that will be Slogger. Don't offer him a carrot, or your sister, it will just confuse him further.(reference Total Novice page 61)

Ha, ha, quite true. I can see navigation is going to be a problem with no hills to get a bearing on, however my wife should be ok, all she needs is shops in the vicinity and she just zero's in.
