Good luck to you also. We, too, are starting on 2nd Sept from St. Bees. We're taking extra days in the Lake District as we've wanted to see that area for many years. Look for a married couple, 55+, short, and needing lots of directions smile

It's amazing how you can reduce a train fare by playing the system. Shouldn't be necessary, but that's life I'm afraid.

May see you in the first few days then! We are early 50's husband and wife, I have blonde hair, both have Berghaus rucksacks, one royal blue one light blue. We're getting minibus to St Bees from Richmond early on 2nd and staying in Ennerdale Bridge, Stonethwaite and Grasmere first 3 nights. Happy walking!
