We are walking the Dales Way this June. Anyone had experience of the Dalesman Inn ? - very mixed feedback on the www. Thanks.

We stayed at the Dalesman Inn when walking the Dales Way but that was over 3 years ago now, so probably not much help to you now! At that time it was the best place we stayed on the walk, but also the most expensive. I do recall the restaurant was a bit pricey but you can always eat elsewhere in the town. Looking at some reviews we must have stayed in one of the larger rooms - it overlooked the front, had a separate sitting area and furnished in blue.

Many thanks suffolk stroller - ********* have organised our accommodation and i freaked slightly at some of the recent grim reviews of this place. Did you enjoy the walk? Any 'handy hints and tips' ? Cheers.

Yes we did enjoy the walk, despite the weather not being great. We walked it over 8 days. There had been torrential rain in the week before we went so everywhere underfoot was extremely wet to say the least and we also had a fair bit of rain. I would say go expecting some bad weather and then you won't be disappointed if you do get some!

B&B's do vary greatly so you'll probably have some good and some not so good - just remember you're only staying one night! It's a good introduction to long distance walking.
