I am looking for reccomendations of somewhere suitable to wild camp along the Cheviots. A group of us are going up in the summer. Looking for somewhere half way ish, with a bit of shelter for using bivys etc. I seam to remember reading about a place as you go off to clennel street somewhere but I can't find the reference to it now.

AW, Look at Davidson's Linn GR 884157. Slightly off track.

Might seem odd to mention a shortage of water, but if you hit a long dry spell - you should be so lucky! - you might need to drop down the hill. I've usually found a little water on the route at Broad Flow, and there's likely to be plenty near Chew Green. Between Broad Flow and the final descent you might be dry. Heavy stuff, water!

Thanks everyone.

Davidson's Linn was the place I was thinking off. Shame it's about a mile off track. The second hut is also something to consider though.
