Oh no LWM... being a bear of very little brain (which is probably why I spent today carrying stones up a mountain to lay a new path) ... I am confused .....

Firstly, I met a group of 65 hour walkers at Scarth Nick ....

"Came across a small group of Coast to Coasters yesterday bivouacking near Scarth Nick. They were on an exercise requiring them to complete the walk, carrying their own provisions, at an average of 3 MPH, ie 65 hours including stops. I was going to offer to accompany them on the last section but felt that their pace would slow me down!"

Then I met SGT James ... not doing the walk but doing his own thing ...

"I met a person today who is involved with the 65 hour walk. I have asked him to post details on this site. So, with a bit of luck ........"

I don't believe I posted that they were together ..... did I?

"The point that puzzles me is ... I came across these people breaking camp at Scarth Nick last year. It was these that told me about the walk. then a month ago I came across this walker doing the C to C in (he claimed) 100 hours, who, quite independently, told me about it as well. A strange coincidence?

Wish I had kept ..... (as I suppose everybody else does)

To lighten the mood somewhat ......

The next James Bond film is called "Skyfall" (info about it is now on the internet). What has not been revealed however, is the reason for this title, other than "Skyfall" has an emotional attachment to Bond.

In fact "Skyfall" is a specific entity which has to fill a number of very restrictive criteria. It was hoped that a location for this could be found in Northern England.

To this end, a couple of years ago a small group of us were invited to a meeting at a posh hotel to suggest possible locations for it (Got a lovely meal out of it).

It proved extremely difficult (the reason will be obvious in the film). Finally a few suggestions were investigated. Two of mine were eventually rejected. One because it overflew the Warcop training range, the other because it required part of the filming to be in one of the Dales restricted access valleys.

I don't know where they finished up, but feedback suggests hat they used two different locations and stitched them together .... one possibly being Glencoe.

I think they had to move to Africa to actually get one of the remaining locations on their wish list .... again, when it is released, look at the coastal location and try and identify where it could have been filmed in England!!!
