Thank you everyone, but especially to Harland and LWM for such a wonderful response. I am overwhelmed. I'm afraid I only scored 10, but it was 5 years ago I did the crossing. Well, that's my excuse anyway. Some tricky questions!!

Ha ha, I got to q9 and thought 'I'm going to be here all day at this rate' - and that was after half-an-hour. Thankfully Harland came to the rescue in a more thorough manner.
'tis indeed Black Dub at the source of the Lyvennet though...
and Danby High Moor re.7 smile

Just a bit of fun and really easy questions, which you all should get anyway, no cheating at back!

1. Name the through-fare near Cleator named after A.W.

2. Name the river in Ennerdale.

3. You could go down the wrong valley, up on Greenup Edge.

4. A famous biscuit in Lakeland.

5. The old railway in Smardale linked two places, name them.

6. You cross the last 2000' contour here, what location is it.

7. There used to be a inn in Marrick, name the inn.

8. This person lived to a ripe old age, name him and age.

9. This valley is a grand walk to do, in the Spring time.

10. You finally hit the North Sea coast here, name the cliff.

Answers please.

I was just going to say all of those and you posted them up. I dunno. Who is the dunder head now.
But Henry was more likely to have lived to 122........which is still a bloomion good crack, especially as the average age was 57 in those days.

Definitely 169. This is given on his tombstone. Spent most of this time waiting to be served in Costa Coffee so the story goes.
