To work on Blu-ray you will need a Blu-ray player.B-R won't work on a standard DVD player.

America uses the NTSC colour system so PAL (phase alternating line) won't work on a standard NTSC player.A lot of DVD players can switch between the NTSC and PAL chroma format so it might work.

Another option is to load the DVD onto a PC and use VCL media player which seems to play any format.

it's not a Blu-ray disc though Tony... so does my player detect std discs and adjust accordingly..?
Your second option seems to answer the above though to view on PC - how much postage to US though..?

My mistake,Mick.I thought it was a BR disc. Most standard DVDs will play on BR players.

Postage to US should be less than a fiver for one disc.

One disc (and case) for under a tenner then... well worth it!

I was only smart enough to mention the possible problem, but fairly clueless on all the technicalities. I know it has been a problem in the past with DVDs, but by now it may have been sorted out.

Loc: Earth. Usually,but not exclusi...
Just do the walk and forget the DVD. It may work out more expensive...but the High Definition views you get from your eyes more than compensates for that.

and you get to wear boots too.

My feet appear to have heard about this next attempt and are rebelling as we speak.............I may have to leave them at home and do the walk on my knees.

I've never quite got the hang of CD's and DVD's - getting them out of the case is the 1st hurdle, nor have I sussed out FF and RW properly - they always seem to end up jumping back to the start and then it takes ages to find where you were. With VC's and the counter thingy it was much simpler...

I'd like some HD eyesight... least I'll qualify for a free eyetest next month.
