I'm not surprised she didn't do the whole thing at all - it was still an enjoyable program and that's what matters. My only criticism would be if she implied that she was walking it all - misrepresentation and all that!

She didn't do the whole walk - official. A casual acquaintance of my wife's second-cousin-once-removed's aunt's father in law's first wife was in the pub in Reeth whilst on holiday from Australia, and said that he thinks he may have heard a friend of one of the film crew's wife or girlfriend say that she might have to miss a couple of day's filming due to other commitments. But he may have misheard, or got it wrong, or made the whole thing up, or not understood his (or was it her) Yorkshire accent.

Does it matter if she did or not, it is hardly a difficult thing to do, come on have you not seen the state of some of the people that complete this walk, it is a doddle.

At least Julie took the trouble to travel north of Watford Gap for making the programmes, not like Jeremy Vine on Panorama who says a few words at the start and end of the programme handing over to an expert on the subject for the 28 minutes in between.

Well, having returned to this message board after an absence of far too long I am amazed to find this particular discussion is still going! At least Ms Bradbury appears to be very popular regardless whether she walked it all or not! smile

Incidently, she did walk........some of it wink But who cares, just enjoy the series and accept its smoke and mirrors subterfuge!

Wonder if she will be on the WHW in September......?

Looking forward to seeing the finished article.

Have you seen the finished article and if so what did you think of it ?

Yes Lizard, it was shown on BBC4 earlier in the year although I have to admit I was a little disappointed by its content when I saw it. I can see what they were trying to do. By filming parts of the walk, the industry enroute and clips of AW it would perhaps appeal to a wider audience but I would have prefered more coverage of the actual route myself.
