Im starting solo July 3rd, W2E.Ive been wanting to do this walk for a long time and recent retirement gives me the opportunity. Planning on 13 days. All b&b's booked as well as Sherpa. Im training with a weekly 18 mile walk but will increase this to 2/week soon. Looking forward to meeting some inteesting folk and generally having a little adventure.

Hi All,
Three of us will be walking the C to C from East to West starting on 12th September taking 12 days.
It's two years since we completed the Pennine Way so we are all excited and eager to go. We live in Spain and are avid walkers so fitness is not a problem. Our ages range from 56 to 64.
I agree with various comments feet have top priority and good boots and socks are paramount to prevent suffering. I've just changed boots to berghaus explorer ridge and using bridgedale trail socks - expensive but the best in my opinion and absolutely no problems!
We will be using Sherpa services and staying at B & B's as we enjoy fine ales and good wines when ever possible. One stop will be St Giles Farm at Catterick Bridge as Simon who is a family friend offers fantastic hospitality. I've already started to prepare using the two Harvey strip maps and cicerone guide making valuable notes on information received.
Any tips, guidance on what and what not to do is always appreciated.

Cheers.

Good choice of timing as the schools will have gone back. Should make accommodation finding a tad easier if you book up early.

Should be starting in early June with a mate of mine, its the first time I've managed to convince anyone to tag along. Hopefully we will avoid most schools closing if we leave early in the month.

My daughter and I start on June 10th and plan to arrive in Robin Hood's Bay on the 19th. Maybe we'll bump into you Dargie25!

I will be starting the walk on May 3rd! Starting on my 27th birthday. A great way to start my 27th year I think. And at least if not, hopefully that will get me through the lakes. smile

Every time I see this topic I want to reply "yes me!" But we were planning it this time last year for last September. Maybe again in a few years time.... Still haven't booked anything for this year though, not sure how to top it!

I shall be part of a three member team embarking on a 5 day crossing, West to East starting on the 5th April and hopefully finishing at some point in the evening of the 9th April. Not completely unaided as we have a support driver. Look out for us and say hello!

Best of luck Craig.
This 5 day thing seems to be spreading.
It's all your fault Mick.
