4 days ago we were greeting people with glasses of water and aftersun cream. To-day we were greeting them with hot coffee and warm blankets. It is all very weird.

Quite surreal in the north too. Wild daffodils with only their heads above the snow!

we've returned to rality/normality... there have been more White Easters than White Christmases.

From what I've seen in the past, normal means anything goes at anytime. I just hope I don't have my head sticking out of the snow later this month.

The country is split in two again....I've been working outside in T shirt for the last month in Hertfordshire, this week is cooler as the wind has turned northerly but still lovely bright days.

But as I should have guessed as we're now only 3 hours away from the start of the hosepipe ban it's decided to start raining quite hard outside for the first time for ages, but at least its not snow !!

It is very rare or the Farndale daffodil season to pass without snow. It is just that, this year, it has come after an usually hot spell. Only 2 years since I was stood outside all day in a bitingly bitter cold Good Friday with the temperature not rising above freezing.

Yes it was the hot weather that was weird there is nothing unusual about snow in Byrness we don`t start thinking about the garden until the second bank holiday in May.
