In other words around his garden.
Not bad for a man with only one good leg. Mind you his bad leg is better than most peoples good ones.
A very modest man who continues to inspire.
Dave.

Very inspiring. I'd love to meet him one day in the Lakes. I'm sure he would stop to say Hi and then continue on to Haystacks, Dollywagon Pike, or some other spiritual place where C2C'ers commune.

Coming over the Pond next weekend to care for mom abit and keep my daily running streak going 7yrs,4mths and must do my favourite one day walk: Lathkill Dale in the Peak District... a little bit of heaven!

Completed the C2C twice. Recommend anyone perusing here and thinking of a first time challenge. The memories and companionship will last a lifetime. Go do it and smile with nostalgia thereafter.

Currently helping Andrew Morris and Roz Savage get 'Bogangles' ready to row the Atlantic starting next week from St John's, across the N. Atlantic, up the Bristol Channel and English waterways, to the Thames and the Olympic Games. We have many iceburgs and bergy bits this year. It is going to be hard to see them as they row with their backs to the oncoming ice. Two hours rowing while the other sleeps, and so on for 55 days if they can beat the record. 48 have previously accomplished it.

Best wishes for every walker this summer!
Chris, St. John's Newfoundland.

He ran past me and my son about 20 years ago at the top of Black Sail Pass. He said "Hello", but he certainly didn't stop - didn't even break his stride. His Border Collie dashed across to check our rucksacks, then man and dog vanished into the cloud. Glad to have seen such a legend.
